Has anyone else noticed this to be true? Here's a snapshot from a web UI of a cluster in this state: If you see the issue, the resolution is fairly straightforward. Thus, when you run the 32-bit version of Testlimit on 32-bit Windows, it will consume the entire 2GB of its address space: 2010 MB isn’t quite 2GB, but Testlimit’s other code The question is: is the current startegy used by Windows the best strategy to provide the best user-interaction responsiveness on consumer machines?

This is what I've tried so far: - Un-install and re-install Chrome (even this was a challenge) - Using service.msc to deactivate Superfetch, Windows Search, Windows Update and BITS - Moved
It seems it causes disk spin even when it's not downloading anything. Reserved memory does contribute to commit charge, because the memory manager charges commit for pagetable space necessary to map the entire reserved range. When the high disk usage is expected such as installing a program or downloading large files over broadband, it doesn't touch 100% with I/O in the MB/s spectrum. I have NO IDEA how Memory Clean works or what it does.
It seems though that I've been doing something wrong. Most of the time they are (almost) empty, but they have to be large enough in case a big storm happens. Here is a decent discussion of the issue. this content Interesting post as usual Mark, I learned quite a bit.
In contrast, in MR2, the number of concurrent mappers and reducers (the “slot count”) is calculated by YARN based on allocations by the administrator. While this fixes a scalability issue in MR1, it does require administrators and developers to become accustomed to obtaining troubleshooting information from a new location. At install time, you can tell Cloudera Manager to install lots of services on the cluster, including resource-intensive services like Apache HBase, Cloudera Impala, and Cloudera Search.
