Ater deleting the contents of SoftwareDistribution folder, try it. Search on Microsoft, for the patch using the Update KB number, and download its stand-alone installer. I have since tried three times to undo the system restore but the undo restore does not complete successfully. So don't be hesitant to do reintall when you find any problem in Windows. 2 hours is much more better than One week delay.
